OSHKOSH, November 23, 2009 – Business Week has named Oshkosh the best place to raise kids in Wisconsin in its new report, “Best Places to Raise Your Kids 2010.”

Business Week cited Oshkosh, a community of 65,000, for the top honor in Wisconsin because of its location, indoor recreation opportunities, schools, and safety. Runners up in Wisconsin included Eau Claire and West Allis.

“It’s no surprise that to us that a Oshkosh was selected as the best place to raise kids in Wisconsin,” said Jerry Murphy, Executive Director of the New North, Inc. “New North communities have been consistently ranked among the best places to live, work, and raise a family anywhere in the country, and it’s great to see Oshkosh receive this distinction.”

The Best Place to Raise Kids is a yearly report from Business Week identifying one city in each state based on numerous factors, including safety, number of schools, test scores, diversity, job growth and family income.
