APPLETON, Wis. – Area manufacturers can learn about high-impact strategies to reduce costs and drive efficiencies through their operations in a series of lean workshops being offered this fall in Appleton.
A free information session on the Lean Manufacturing Certificate Series will be held from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at the D.J. Bordini Center at Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC). Participants will get a brief introduction to lean manufacturing and overview of the series. For more information, call Dick Welsch at 920-980-6862.
“Lean is a powerful strategy to eliminate waste, reduce costs, boost productivity and engage your employees in the success of your company,” said Welsch, manufacturing specialist for the Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership (WMEP). “Lean is no longer an option – it’s a requirement if you want to survive the recession and position your company for future growth and profitability.”

The day-long classes are taught by WMEP’s lean experts, who typically have 20+ years of private sector manufacturing experience.
Classes will be held at the D.J. Bordini Center at FVTC. Cost for the series is $2,100 per person; or $1,800 per person for three or more individuals from the same organization.
