-Focus of new unit is environmental movement in business-

MILWAUKEE (August 25, 2009) – Leveraging its bench strength in marketing sustainable (green) products and processes, Hoffman York announces the establishment of HY-brid – a division dedicated to helping clients navigate their way through today’s “greenscape.”

As demands on companies to deliver green products and define a positioning on the environment grow, (H)offman (Y)ork-brid bridges the gap between the economy and our ecosystem. By bringing those two ideas together, HY-brid helps clients understand and explore opportunities that exist in the green marketplace including crafting meaningful messages that will resonate with employees and customers.

According to the 2009 State of Green Business Report from Greenbiz.com, in a survey of more than 100 companies, nearly 47 percent said they were increasing their investments in green product development in 2009; less than 6 percent said they’d be investing less than they did a year ago.

“A slumping economy doesn’t mean that green efforts will be cut from company budgets,” said Sharon Boeldt, president of Hoffman York PR. “Reducing energy use through efficiency as well as marketing and positioning sustainable products and processes is a trend that’s here to stay. Eventually, all of corporate America will be required to respond to the marketplace how they are responsible citizens in the green space.”

Any business looking to take a “green” stance needs to provide every day, sustainable products and services to their end users. HY-brid helps clients understand how those products and services, are or are not green and how they can achieve their sustainability objectives through creative, strategic marketing. Wisconsin’s Focus on Energy Program and MASCO’s Merillat Cabinetry are just two of the division’s clients.

To support the agency’s HY-brid division, Hoffman York is launching a Web site dedicated to those potential clients looking for an environmental marketing partner. The http://www.HY-bridGreen.com site is an interactive tool that allows visitors to find out how green they are. In addition, the site offers visitors an opportunity to learn about HY-brid’s services, as well as interact with the HY-brid team through a blog.

HY-brid is Green – but not behind the ears.

HY-brid supports its clients in their efforts to drive demand and awareness of green products and services. The process begins with a consultative phase that results in the development of a green marketing platform. This platform becomes an integral part of the client’s communications strategy, incorporating sustainability messaging. HY-brid develops and implements programming to help clients deliver those key environmental messages through a full range of services that includes market research, collateral, interactive and public relations.

“We have deep experience helping clients understand how to position the ‘green’ of their products or services,” added Boeldt. “Today, most companies’ products or processes already contain green components, and those that don’t, can benefit from our counsel on how to take a step toward sustainability.”
