Platypus Technologies: Appoints new board members

Madison, WI – Platypus Technologies announces the addition of two new members to its Board of Directors. Michael Szulczewski is founder and President of Prairie Technologies, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of customized laser-based microscope systems for the neurosciences market that he has managed for over 10 years. Mr. Szulczewski has a degree in electrical engineering and over 20 years experience in imaging systems design, sales & marketing and government grant awards. Thomas Crabb recently became President of Orbital Technologies Corporation to instill growth in newly organized aerospace and commercial spin-off business sectors that anticipate major growth over the next 4 years. Mr. Crabb has over 29 years of experience in the aerospace and technology/product development areas and has led ORBITEC’s technical developments related to advanced life support, spaceflight hardware and commercial product development. Walter Dewey, Senior Portfolio Manager and Principal of Reinhart Partners, Inc., an investment advisory firm, has been elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Dr. Nicholas Abbott, a Platypus Technologies co-founder, will be stepping down as Chairman of the Board of Directors, but will remain an active board member as he assumes responsibility as the Department Chair for the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Wisconsin-Madison. Other board members are co-founders Dr. Barbara Israel and Dr. Christopher Murphy, and Dr. Richard Schifreen, President and CEO of Platypus Technologies, LLC.
