RedPrairie: Introduces promotion execution for grocery solution

New application provides functionality for promotion planning, issue management, improved store and field productivity

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – RedPrairie Corporation, a productivity software provider, has introduced its new Promotion Execution for Grocery solution, designed to help business administrators ensure promotion plans are carried out properly in stores. By providing expanded visibility into promotion execution issues, the new product can help grocery companies resolve problems, and improve field and workforce productivity quickly and inexpensively through photo verification. Complete with industry best practice promotion processes, Promotion Execution for Grocery can be installed and live in stores within a week.

The new solution will help ensure all promotion initiatives are prioritized and communicated to stores in the promotion planning process. Best practice templates are used to subsequently provide those stores with individual direction and prioritization, with mobile and photographic compliance monitoring. Any issues are automatically sent to field personnel, who can resolve problems in a timely manner. All of these features will enable a new level of compliance to both administrators and manufacturers.

“Forty percent of surveyed grocers in a recent SuperMarket News poll estimated their in-store promotions are carried out correctly less than half the time,” says Noel Goggin, RedPrairie VP Product Strategy. “More than ever, grocers need to translate merchandising strategy into execution at the store level. Promotion Execution provides the ability to isolate the gaps between this strategy and actual enactment, while allowing for timely corrective action. In effect, our solution can drive promoted item lift, increase trade promotion funds, decrease labor needs, and improve compliance with manufacturer agreements.”

“Promotions are critical to grocery retailers right now, especially given current economic conditions,” says Nikki Baird, RSR Research. “Our studies show that promotions are becoming a central tool for retailers to attract and retain scarce customers. However, the more promotions an organization runs, the more difficult it is for stores to keep up. Retailers could not do themselves a greater disservice than spending all the time, work, and margin on planning an effort to drive customers to stores, only to miss delivering on their promises.”

Promotion Execution for Grocery boasts a rapid time to value with SaaS offerings, enabling low cost of entry and positive ROI in a short time frame. The solution is being introduced as part of RedPrairie’s upcoming line of ROI In Days (ROIds) applications, designed for low initial investment, and accelerated time to value.
