MADISON, Wis. — As a means of providing free financial information and advice to its members and the public, Summit Credit Union is offering workshop seminars on Mon., May 18 at the Sheraton Hotel, 706 John Nolen Dr., Madison.

Community members are invited to learn about:

* Managing expenses after a job loss

* Fresh ideas on how to grow a business during challenging times

Juggling work and family life is a challenge. Planning for your future doesn’t have to be. Remove the stress that comes with managing your money and have confidence in your financial future. This session will get participants on their way to achieving financial independence in five easy steps.

Making Ends Meet After You’ve Lost Your Job

You’ve lost your job. Now what? This workshop will show you hot to manage your expenses until you find a new career. Plus, participants will receive tips on how to refresh their resume, how to stand out during interviews, and the best places to search for a new job.

Business Therapy – Fresh Ideas to Grow Your Business

* 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Get fresh ideas on how to attract new customers and grow your small business in this challenging economy. Neil Lerner, director of the Small Business Development Center at the UW-Madison School of Business, will present tips on how customers make their purchase decisions and how you can use this information to build a marketing strategy that makes you stand out from your competition – whether your business is at home, online…anywhere. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to network with other area businesses and get ideas on how their success can help you.

No reservations are required to attend the workshops. Summit will donate $1 to the Second Harvest Food Bank for each workshop participant.
