Pavlovich Expected to Lead Orion’s U.S. Sales and Marketing Efforts

Plymouth, WI. Orion Energy Systems announced the hiring of Mike Pavlovich as Vice President of National Sales. Mr. Pavlovich has been in the lighting business for 18 years, all of which were spent with Osram Sylvania as a senior sales representative. Mr. Pavlovich was a Hall of Fame Award winner while with Osram Sylvania.

“I have been intimately involved in the energy efficient lighting business for almost two decades, dealing with training, distribution, and end user sales for Osram Sylvania,” stated Mr. Pavlovich. “My extensive background in lighting and lighting systems is a perfect fit to help Orion achieve their rather aggressive goals of becoming a significant national presence within the next two or three years.”

Orion has leap-frogged over existing lighting technology with the development of the “Illuminator Series,” which competes directly with High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting products such as Metal Halide and High Pressure Sodium. Starting in early March of 2001, Orion began designing the lighting fixture that became the Illuminator. Going head to head with the likes of several Fortune 100 companies in the $40 to $60 billion market for industrial lighting, Orion has designed an energy efficient lighting solution that delivers 50% to 100% better light while using 50% of the electricity consumed by HID fixtures.

“I feel very comfortable with Neal Verfuerth and Orion’s vision of designing a sustainable line of products that conserve energy without compromising total light quantity and quality,” said Mr. Pavlovich.

As an emerging Wisconsin company, Orion Energy Systems has received the prestigious Spirit of Ecology Award at the 32nd Annual Governor’s New Product Award Program for the Illuminator. More recently, Orion received the Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Grand Award winner for the Emerging Growth category by the Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce and the Wisconsin Business Friend of the Environment Award. In addition, Orion was chosen as a “Success Story” for the 2002 Governor’s Summit on Capital.

“Now that Orion has begun marketing its energy efficient lighting products through Fastenal, a publicly traded company with almost 1400 retail stores, and independent dealers of Yale Lift Truck, I felt we needed a lighting professional like Mike Pavlovich to help take Orion to the next level,” averred Neal Verfuerth, President of Orion Energy Systems. “As Orion ramps up its manufacturing capability, I wanted to make sure that we had the large sales increases to match.”
