MADISON – Two Fox Valley technologists with ties to long-time Wisconsin companies have joined the board of directors for the Wisconsin Technology Council.

Cheryl Perkins, chief technology officer for Kimberly Clark, and Ed Wojciechowski, who will retire soon as chief information officer at Menasha Corp., were elected to the Tech Council board at its recent meeting in La Crosse.

“We are thrilled to add Cheryl and Ed to the board of directors,” said Chairman Mark Bugher. “Their experience advancing technology within their companies, along with their ties to the Fox Valley, will be a great addition to the work of the Wisconsin Technology Council.”

Perkins is responsible for providing major advances in Kimberly Clark’s core technologies of fiber, absorbency and non-wovens. She also oversees the development of new technologies and new business initiatives to create a competitive advantage for Kimberly Clark.

Menasha Advantage is a shared services company that provides both transactional and specialized services to Menasha companies. Formed in April 2001 under Wojciechowski’s direction, Menasha Advantage’s technical, financial and human services resources have provided more than $10 million in accrued cost savings to the organization in just two years. The company’s technology strategy has received national attention and has been hailed as visionary. Menasha Corporation was recognized by CIO Magazine in 1999 when the corporation was chosen as one of the “Top 100 Leaders of the NEXT Millenium.”

The Wisconsin Technology Council serves as the science and technology adviser to the governor and the Legislature, as well as the leading catalyst for technology development in Wisconsin. The 40-member board of directors includes leaders of high-tech businesses, education, venture capital and government. The board meets quarterly in efforts to advance science and technology throughout the state.
