Paper Discovery Center of Appleton: To hold free evening learning events

The Paper Discovery Center of Appleton will be holding free evening learning events in 2009 which will cover topics ranging from Energy to Bio Fuels.

Now through April, on the second Monday of the month from 6:30pm to 8:00pm, adults and older students are invited to attend this series of evening learning events. Course information is as follows:

• Mar 9: Bio Fuels

Discover what Bio Fuels are all about with presenter Tim Donohue, Principal Investigator for the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center and professor of Bacteriology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

• Apr 13: Dard Hunter

Take in the story of famous paper artist, historian, and book maker Dard Hunter as told by his grandson Dard Hunter III. His publications and museum collection promote the significance of handmade paper as the origin of a global industry.

All evening learning events are free of charge although donations are welcome. Pre-registration is encouraged due to limited seating. The events will be held at the Paper Discover Center located at 425 West Water St, Appleton. For more information, please visit http://www.paperdiscoverycenter.org.

The Paper Discovery Center is a science and technology center in Northeast Wisconsin with the aim of celebrating the art and science of paper through interactive and engaging educational programs, exhibits, and activities, with a focus on the industry’s exciting future. The Paper Discovery Center is an arm of the Paper Industry International Hall of Fame which is housed in the historic Atlas Mill overlooking the Fox River in Appleton.
