Wisconsin Forward Award: Excellence at Work conference to focus on profitability, sustainability in health care, manufacturing, and public sector organizations

Madison—Wisconsin Forward Award will host its annual Excellence at Work Conference Thursday and Friday, February 26 -27, 2009 at the American Family Conference Center in Madison.

Conference keynote speakers include

-Sister Mary Jean Ryan, president and chief executive officer of SSM Health Care in St. Louis,a leader in the health care quality movement. She has been named one of the most powerful people in health care byModern Healthcare Magazinefor the past six years.

-E. David Spong, retiredpresident of Aerospace Support for Boeing Integrated Defense Systems and self-professed Baldrige zealot. He is the only two-time winner of the Baldrige Award for two different organizations in two different sectors.

-Paul Worstell, president of PRO-TEC Coating Companya 2007 Baldrige recipientlocated inLeipsic, Ohio. PRO-TEC provides world-class, hot-dipped galvanized coated sheet steel primarily to the most demanding customers and applications in the automotive market. It was established in 1990 as a joint venture between United States Steel Corp. and Kobe Steel of Japan.

-Christine Heflin-Ewing, an experienced performance excellence practitioner with over thirty years of leadership in government innovation and improvement. She most recently served as the Organizational Development Coordinator for the City of Coral Springs, FL.

Other notable speakers during the two-day conference include Baldrige National Quality Award recipients from Mercy Health System, Janesville and Jenks Public Schools, OK, and Wisconsin Forward Award recipients St. Mary’s Care Center Monona Terrance Community and Convention Center, Runzheimer International, Pewaukee Public Schools, and the American Society for Quality.
