MILWAUKEE, Wis. (2/9/2009) – The Wisconsin chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers recognized Strang, Inc. with five interior design awards at an Awards Gala Friday, Feb. 6, in Milwaukee. Strang received three Gold Awards for Mentor Corporation, the Kraft Foods Lounge and the First United Methodist Church Labyrinth; and two Silver Awards for HealthEmotions Research Institute and the Agora at Fitchburg Center.

· Mentor Corporation received Gold for sustainable design. The new 37,000 square foot manufacturing and office facility in Madison is currently pursuing Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification through the U.S. Green Building Council.

· The Lounge at Kraft Foods received Gold for office/corporate under 5,000 square feet. The budget-friendly 4,500 square foot renovation in Madison used lighting and color to create a relaxing and casual atmosphere.

· The Labyrinth at First United Methodist Church received Gold for custom design. The custom-design labyrinth is the focal point of the chapel, which was part of a renovation and addition to the Church in Madison.

· HealthEmotions Research Institute received Silver for educational/institutional. A world leader in emotions research, the 42,740 square foot addition to the University of Wisconsin’s Psychiatry Facility is located in Madison’s University Research Park.

· Agora at Fitchburg Center received Silver for office/corporate over 25,000 square feet. The 84,000 square foot building overlooks a restored prairie in Fitchburg and houses retail space and Promega Corporation’s administrative offices.

The ASID Design awards honor outstanding design in office/corporate, recreation/hospitality, healthcare/medical, retail/showroom, educational/institutional, historic/renovation/recycle, residential, sustainable, unique and custom design.
