MADISON, Wisconsin, January 13, 2008, Wisconsin Early Childhood Association is pleased to announce the hiring of three new employees.

Leah Nell Adams has accepted the position of fund development manager. Her primary duties include securing corporate sponsorships, grants management, and creating a development department. Leah Nell brings a masters degree to her position and comes to WECA from Wisconsin Public Television, where she became keenly aware of the role media pays in development. Leah Nell’s personal passion for her work stems from seeing first-hand how high-quality early education made an important impression on her own young children, and believes all families should have access to that kind of care.

Erin Gernetzke has recently been hired as a research and policy analyst. Erin’s main responsibility is researching best practices in early childhood education in order to inform parents, child care providers, professionals, legislators, and community members across the state. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northwestern University as well as a master’s in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Erin is in the process of becoming a certified school social worker and a certified advanced practice social worker. Additionally, her experience as an early education social work intern and provider brings a unique perspective to her position.

Sarah Artz steps into the role of marketing/e-communications specialist. In this capacity, she is responsible for driving marketing efforts including developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing plan, crafting messaging and collateral, and researching new electronic marketing opportunities. Sarah holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and media from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This newly created position will help poise WECA for successful growth into new markets.
