The Wisconsin FFA Foundation is proud to announce that $25,500 has been awarded to 41 Wisconsin FFA members in $500 and $1000 Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program grants.
SAE programs apply the concepts learned in the agricultural education classroom and the skills developed through FFA membership to individual experiential learning projects. Programs are classified as placement or entrepreneurship and span a broad range of agricultural careers and businesses.
“In the past two years, we’ve been excited to have so much student interest in SAE programs,” said Jeff Hicken, Wisconsin FFA advisor. “It’s great to see these students develop the leadership and career skills they’ll need as they enter the agriculture industry.”
The grants were awarded in three different SAE categories: dairy, organic agriculture, and agri-entrepreneurship start-up grants.
Dairy SAE grants at $500 and $1,000 values were distributed to 27 students in America’s Dairyland. These grants were sponsored by the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, Foremost Farms USA, WE Energies-Agriculture Services Program, NASCO and Saputo. Dairy SAE grant recipients were:
