Applied Tech is excited to announce that staff member Tim Barrett, Systems Specialist, has been awarded by Microsoft as a “Microsoft Most Valuable Professional®” for Windows Small Business Server for a second year in a row.

The Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) Award is an annual award that is given to outstanding members of Microsoft’s technical communities, and that is based on contributions made during the previous year to offline and online technical communities. Each year a panel of Microsoft employees reviews the contributions of each nominee for quality, quantity, and level of impact on the technical community.

Customers and technology users who work with Microsoft technologies are encouraged to visit user groups, conferences, and training sessions that are led by MVPs. MVPs are objective technology experts who are eager to share their knowledge. They have no obligation to Microsoft and freely share their expert opinions and experience, earning users’ respect and trust.

As a recipient of this year’s Microsoft MVP award, Tim joins a stellar group of individuals from around the world who have demonstrated a willingness to reach out, share their technical expertise with others and help individuals maximize their use of technology.

There are only about 3,500 MVPs worldwide and less than 60 MVP’s for Windows Small Business Server. MVPs are technology’s best and brightest, and we are honored to have Tim as one of them. Tim was first honored as a MVP for 2008.
