Madison, WI – Murphy Desmond S.C. Partner, Bob Lightfoot of Verona recently began his term as President and Board Chair of the Wisconsin Assisted Living Association (WALA). He has served as President-Elect since 2006 and serves as co-chair of WALA’s Legislative and Regulatory Committee.

WALA is Wisconsin’s premier assisted living association, comprised of over 650 members and representing more than 11,000 residents of Wisconsin assisted living facilities. WALA’s mission is that assisted living will become the venue of choice for individuals who need some care but want to maintain as much independence as possible. WALA promotes standards of quality care, and provides valuable member services to organizations providing assisted living services to older adults.

Lightfoot’s state-wide and national health care practice focuses on the assisted living and nursing home fields. He also represents licensed health care professionals in matters before the Wisconsin Department of Regulation & Licensing. He is a frequent and sought after speaker in Wisconsin and regionally on topics of health care regulation, operations and issues affecting health care facilities and health care professionals. Lightfoot is also a licensed Registered Nurse. A native of Marshfield, Wisconsin, he earned a B.S. Degree from Middle Tennessee State University and a Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota.
