Dept. of Commerce: Gov. Doyle Announces Funding for WISCONSIN INVESTCAST, INC.

MADISON – Gov. Jim Doyle announced today that Wisconsin Investcast, Inc.,
Watertown, Jefferson County, in the Capital Ideas Technology Zone will
receive $150,000 in Technology Zone tax credits. The Capital Ideas
Technology Zone includes the counties of Dane, Jefferson, and Rock.

“My Grow Wisconsin initiative calls for supporting technology
development and innovation in our business climate,” Gov. Doyle said. “I am
pleased to provide funding to Wisconsin Investcast, Inc. The company will
invest $6 million to expand and equip its facility in Watertown. This
project will retain 50 positions.”

“We support promoting regional cooperation and developing a
technology base,” said Department of Commerce (Commerce) Secretary Cory L.
Nettles. “With today’s award, Wisconsin Investcast, Inc. will be able to
move forward in its investment in high-tech equipment.”

“This project clearly signals that Wisconsin Investcast, Inc. is
committed to utilizing advanced technology processes through fixed asset and
human capital investments,” said James Otterstein, Capital Ideas Technology
Zone representative. “This Technology Zone award will support the company’s
efforts to capitalize on existing, as well as emerging, market share
opportunities.”

Wisconsin Investcast, Inc. manufactures turbine parts using
corrosion and heat-resistant metals. It is investing in state-of the art
technology that use robots and computer-driven control systems to reduce the
time and cost in its manufacturing process.

The Capital Ideas Technology Zone provides incentives for high-tech
growth in knowledge-based, manufacturing, biotechnology, food processing,
and business services industry clusters, among others. For more information
