Certified nursing assistants receive scholarships to become licensed practical nurses
WEST ALLIS, Wis. (November 16, 2018) – Heritage Senior Living announced today the establishment of Milo’s Fund, a $100,000 scholarship program that will assist certified nursing assistants at Heritage Senior Living communities across the state of Wisconsin to be become licensed practical nurses. Milo’s Fund is named in honor of Milo Pinkerton, the organization’s founder, CEO and President.

Operating Officer. “Our nursing staff are crucial caregivers, information resources and support for our residents and their families, and if we can help our employees further their education and careers, it is a win for everyone.”
Three certified nurses have been selected as the first recipients of Milo’s Fund scholarships, which will cover the cost of their Licensed Practical Nurses program at Milwaukee Area Technical College.
Those recipients are Sarah Lebeau from Heritage’s Lincoln Village Senior Living in Port Washington Tanisha Williams Hayes from Heritage Court in Waukesha, and Laura Gauer from Heritage Lake
Country in Hartland.
Licensed practical nurses assist with medication management, maintaining patient records and
coordinating resident care with the nurses and therapists at Heritage Senior Living communities. Up to two certified nursing assistants at each of Heritage’s 16 communities across Wisconsin will be offered scholarships up $7,500 each.
