Independent Living Inc: Mary Wright joins Independent Living Inc. Board of Directors

Madison, WI – Independent Living, Inc. is proud to welcome Mary Wright to their Board of Directors. “Mary brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role,” commented Interim Chief Executive Officer, John Hecht. “Her background in housing and health care will be extremely valuable to our Board.”

Wright, a University of Wisconsin-La Crosse alumna, currently works as the President of the Wisconsin Housing Preservation Corp (WHPC) where she is responsible for the leadership and management of a $480 million company. A nonprofit organization, WHPC’s primary objective is to develop, acquire and preserve affordable rental housing for lower income residents.

Prior to joining WHPC, Wright served as Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager in Commercial Banking for Wells Fargo Bank, Director of Multifamily Housing at the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority and Vice President of Commercial Lending at Johnson Bank.

Wright also takes a special interest in health care organizations and has served on a number of boards including Forward Community Investments, Journey Mental Health Center, and Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin. She is a finance committee member of Access Community Health Centers.

“I look forward to applying my experience and skillset to this new role,” explained Wright. “Independent Living is doing great work for seniors and adults with disabilities in our community and I’m excited to support those efforts.”
