Social Development Foundation: Board of Directors welcomes 10 new board members

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – September 13, 2017 – The Social Development Foundation, whose mission is to
generate awareness, identify resources, and secure support to advance the efforts of the Social Development Commission (SDC), is pleased to announce that they voted to accept 10 new
members to the board. The board voted unanimously to approve the 10 new members prior to its
September 12 meeting.

Members joining the board represent diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise. “It is with great pleasure that we welcome our new board members,” said Peter Zehren, president of the SD
Foundation board. “The enthusiasm each exhibited during candidate interviews and the passion
for our mission and vision was without question. They will be a valuable asset to the SD Foundation board.”

Established in 2003, the SD Foundation fulfills its vision to enhance services and broaden awareness of SDC’s mission in the community: Empowering Milwaukee County residents with the resources to move beyond poverty. Financial support contributes to making programs such as job training and education (HSED/GED) as well as the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program possible.
