MADISON – Whether it’s talent, capital or connections, a series of seminars during the upcoming Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Conference in Madison will examine why Wisconsin is the right place for companies to launch, grow and succeed.

The two-day conference will feature 15 panel discussions and seminars organized into three concurrent tracks titled “Launch, Grow and Succeed” to appeal to companies at different stages of development.

The “Succeed” track will showcase five companies that have moved to, expanded and/or continue to grow in Wisconsin – and why the state is the right place for them. They are:

“Why Wisconsin: The Datica story”

Finding and keeping exceptional people are keys to the future for Datica, which launched in Madison as Catalyze. From the UW-Madison and within the region, Datica is hiring talented engineers and software managers. Datica Chief Operating Officer Brian Lindstrom will describe how the company plans to keep growing. (Tuesday, June 6, 10 – 10:50 a.m.)

“Why Wisconsin: The Tera’s Whey story”

Tera’s Whey is a national brand of organic and grass-fed whey protein. Tera Johnson took her company from idea to reality, raising $14 million from investors, building a green manufacturing facility, launching a brand and completing a successful exit to a public company. “Why Wisconsin: The Hometown Trolley story”

Hometown Trolley is a third-generation, woman-owned manufacturer of trackless trolleys in Crandon. Its trolleys are designed in replica of the nostalgic streetcars of the 1800s, combining high-quality craftsmanship with innovative technology. “Why Wisconsin: The Redox story”

At Redox, the goal is to eliminate data integration as a barrier in healthcare. Seamless sharing of healthcare data empowers technologists to build amazing tools, drives increased provider happiness and gives rise to healthier patients. This is accomplished in Wisconsin! Hear from Chief Executive Officer Luke Bonney. (Wednesday, June 7, 10 – 10:50 a.m.)

“Why Wisconsin: The Revolution EHR story”

Revolution EHR has found success in Wisconsin because of the willingness of individual investors to believe in great ideas being hatched by entrepreneurs, as well as supportive startup resources delivered by Wisconsin legal firms, financial institutions and economic development councils. Hear from founder Scott Jens, a former Governor’s Business Plan Contest finalist. (Wednesday, June 7, 11 – 11:50 a.m.)

More than 500 people are expected to attend the two-day conference, produced by the Wisconsin Technology Council. Other highlights include:

-Nationally known speakers Arvind Subramanian and Alan Webber (both June 7). Subramanian is a nationally known digital health executive; Webber is the founder of Fast Company.

-The 2017 Ken Hendricks Memorial “Seize the Day” award, to be presented June 6 to Zach Halmstad of Jamf, an Eau Claire-based software company

-Diligent (Baker’s) Dozen: Thirteen finalists from the Governor’s Business Plan Contest square off June 6.

Panel discussions and educational seminars for emerging companies on how to “Launch, Grow and Succeed” will span both days
