APPLETON, WISCONSIN, APRIL 20, 2017 – In January of 2017, a new non-profit began in Appleton, Wisconsin. HEAR in the Fox Cities is a growing 501c3, dedicated to providing children of the Fox Cities with hearing aids, so they can hear better, and thrive despite any cost barriers. The organization both raises funds and gives children access to the comprehensive hearing healthcare services they need.

Hearing loss is a pervasive issue that affects nearly 50 million individuals in the United States; including children. HEAR was founded with a mission to have every child get the hearing care
they need; especially those who do not have the access to the appropriate funding for hearing
aids.

HEAR gained the attention of the Mile of Music and About Better Care Audiology, organizations that have always made hearing health a priority. Musicians are often at-risk for hearing loss due to the high levels of noise they are exposed to. Those at Mile of Music recognize this, and offer hearing screenings through About Better Care Audiology at the festival.

With two organizations teaming up to combat hearing loss, the Fox Cities are making strides in
hearing healthcare. Applications will only be available through hearing healthcare professionals.

HEAR in the Fox Cities welcomes the opportunity to speak to other hearing healthcare professionals who are interested in getting involved in some way.
