Marshfield Clinic Health System: Cancer center in Stevens Point opens to patients

Today, the new Marshfield Clinic Cancer Center in Stevens Point began seeing patients, bringing its cancer care and primary care services in one location for the benefit of patients.

Marshfield Clinic has provided consistent oncology care to the Stevens Point and Portage County community since January 1990. Now that world-class care is provided in a 24,000-square-foot cancer addition to the Clinic’s Stevens Point Center, located at 4100 State Highway 66.

The new cancer center will allow Marshfield Clinic providers and staff to provide complete cancer care with state-of-the-art equipment. That includes medical oncology and hematology services that features private chemotherapy infusion suites, radiation oncology, high-dose radiation brachytherapy suite, oncology pharmacy services, access to clinical trials, and cancer care support services.

“Our patients will be provided with cutting-edge, high quality and best value oncology services delivered by the same highly skilled team of oncology providers, oncology-certified nurses and medical oncology staff they have come to know and trust,” said Dr. Adedayo A. Onitilo, Marshfield Clinic Oncology/Hematology, Radiation Oncology and Palliative Medicine service line medical director.

Stevens Point area residents already have access to Marshfield Clinic providers in family medicine and more than 20 specialties, including cardiology, dermatology, nephrology, ophthalmology/optometry, oral surgery, podiatry, rheumatology, physical therapy, lab and infusion therapy, allergy, endocrinology, orthopedics, obstetrics/gynecology, pediatric subspecialties, plastic surgery and urology.

A formal dedication, ribbon cutting ceremony and tours, which are open to the public, will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. March 7.
