Wisconsin Technical College System: Baird named WTCS Futuremaker partner

Milwaukee financial services company recognized for support of Wisconsin’s technical colleges

Madison, WI – The Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) honored Baird for its commitment to technical college education. The Futuremaker Partner award recognizes the dynamic and enduring partnerships between Wisconsin’s technical colleges and their community and employer partners.

“The Futuremaker Partners include many of Wisconsin’s leading companies,” said John Schwantes, WTCS Board President. “The leadership within these companies support the students and have a true understanding of the role the technical colleges play in their success. We are pleased to honor Baird.”

WTCS President Morna Foy praised Baird’s efforts in supporting Wisconsin’s technical colleges. “Baird has been the principal sponsor and advocate of the System’s Ambassador program for many years, acts as bond counsel to our institutions and provides consultation to System leadership on legislation regarding bonding.”

“Baird is honored to be recognized by WTCS as a Futuremaker Partner,” said Keith Kolb, Managing Director and Director of Public Finance at Baird. “As long-time supporters of the Student Ambassador Program, we are pleased to help create awareness of the benefits of technical education and mentor many determined students attending WTCS colleges.”

“Baird has been an integral partner in advocacy and a true champion of technical college programs. Keith is personally involved with the Ambassador program, in which each of Wisconsin’s 16 technical colleges identifies an outstanding student to serve as a WTCS State Ambassador for the coming year,” said Foy. “Those students, their families, college leaders and others gather for a banquet each spring for an opportunity to hear first-hand about the students’ stories of determination and ultimate success. Keith and Baird have been involved with the Ambassador program since its inception over 25 years ago.”
