Madison – For the second year in a row, Ho-Chunk Gaming – Wisconsin Dells is helping area families struggling to put food on their tables by sponsoring the NBC15 Share Your Holidays to eliminate hunger campaign. The campaign raises meals for families and individuals facing hunger in 16 southwestern Wisconsin counties that are served by Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin and its local partner agencies.

Through their Bronze level sponsorship the last two years, Ho-Chunk Gaming – Wisconsin Dells has provided the equivalent of 30,000 meals, thanks to the fact that Second Harvest can provide three meals with every $1 they receive. In addition to their monetary contribution this year, representatives from Ho-Chunk – Wisconsin Dells will also be volunteering their time sorting food on December 8 during the Grand Finale of the NBC15 Share Your Holidays campaign at the Alliant Energy Center.

Second Harvest will also be holding a Phone-a-Thon during the Grand Finale to raise 3.21 million meals for those facing hunger in southwestern Wisconsin. All gifts made by phone at 844-8-HUNGER (toll-free), or online at SecondHarvestMadison.org on December 8 from 6 a.m. – 10:30 p.m. will be matched.

“We are very grateful to Ho-Chunk Gaming – Wisconsin Dells for being part of our fight to end hunger,” said Dan Stein, Second Harvest President & CEO. “To have them be part of the NBC15 Share Your Holidays campaign really shows how much they are dedicated to making our community a better place to live and work.”

“We are happy to be a part of the Share Your Holidays campaign again this year,” said Dave Abangan, Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells Public Relations Manager. “It’s part of our mission to help eliminate hunger in communities where Second Harvest Foodbank serves, and will continue to involve our guests and employees in activities that provide food on tables for those who need it.”
