(Madison, Wi.) Bachmann Construction, noted for its restoration and reconstruction capabilities, earned first place in the commercial renovation category at the Build Wisconsin Awards, sponsored by the Wisconsin Chapter of Associated General Contractors of America. Bachmann was honored for turning the former Savidusky Furrier, 829 East Washington, Madison, into Robinia Courtyard, featuring three distinct restaurants, all sharing a commercial kitchen and a patio which seats 138 people.  The restaurants, Julep, Barolo and Black Locust Café, all have different owners, menus and hours.

Bachmann used locally sourced hickory, walnut and black locust in the interior restoration.  The original vault, used to store furs remains as well as a massive floor-to ceiling vault door, which is a focal point at Robinia Courtyard.

Bachmann Construction, Madison, has been family owned for 62 years.
