Fond du Lac natives, members of The Jimmys perform Friday

Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts (THELMA) announced the Darren Sterud Orchestra – a 20-piece big band will perform Friday.

Sterud is a long-time member of the popular blues group The Jimmys. He will be joined on stage with fellow members of The Jimmys – Pete Ross, Mike Boman, and Perry Weber.

Sterud formed his orchestra in 2012. In a very short time, the band has propelled to the forefront of contemporary big band music in Madison.

Fond du Lac natives Kurt Shipe and Hannah Miller will also perform with the band. Shipe plays for WiFEE and the HUZz Band and 50 Shades of Silver. 50 Shades of Silver will perform a Tribute to the Horace Silver at THELMA Thursday, February 4. Miller is a member of the University of Wisconsin- Madison Marching Band.

The concert begins at 8 pm. The bar opens at 7 pm.
