Second Harvest Foodbank: Help “Stuff-a-Semi” with food donations for those facing hunger

NBC15 Share Your Holidays Campaign Kicks Off 20th Year

MADISON, Wis., November 12, 2015—Make a donation to help end hunger in southwestern Wisconsin by bringing food or financial donations on November 13-14 to Metcalfe’s Market West Towne (7455 Mineral Point Rd., Madison). The 14th annual NBC15 Share Your Holidays to eliminate hunger Stuff-a-Semi event expects to fill a semi-trailer with 50,000 meals for families and individuals facing hunger in southwestern Wisconsin. Last year, through Stuff-a-Semi, Metcalfe’s Market raised more than 46,000 meals. The event is part of the 20th annual NBC15 Share Your Holidays campaign, which aims to raise 3 million meals overall.

Stuff-a-Semi donations will be accepted Friday, November 13 and Saturday, November 14 from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to participate in these ways:
– Donate non-perishable food and non-food grocery items. Shop for items in the store or bring items from home. Drive-through drop-off available.
– Make a cash donation when you check out your groceries or by visiting the Stuff-a-Cart grocery cart by the semi. Each
$1 donation provides 3 meals.
– Purchase and donate a convenient, pre-packed bag containing groceries most needed for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

On Friday, November 13:
– NBC15 Meet & Greet with Ashley Matthews (8:30–11 a.m.)
– $1 Hot Dog fundraiser (11 a.m.–while supplies last)
– NBC15 Meet & Greet with John Stofflet (2:30–6 p.m.)
– Oscar Mayer Wienermobile (3–6 p.m.)
– Truckie, Two Men and a Truck’s mascot (3–6 p.m.)

On Saturday, November 14:
– NBC15 Meet & Greet with Meredith Barack (8 a.m.-noon)
– Dean Milk samples (11 a.m.–while supplies last)
– $1 Hot Dog fundraiser (11 a.m.–while supplies last)
– Maynard and Millie from the Madison Mallards (11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.)
– D.C. Eagle, Madison Capitols mascot (11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.)
– Oscar Mayer Wienermobile (12–6 p.m.)
– Truckie, Two Men and a Truck’s mascot (12–6 p.m.)
– NBC15 Meet & Greets with Brian Doogs (12:30–2:30 p.m.) and Amy Pflugshaupt (2:30–5 p.m.)
