Chamber partners with WCTC’s Center for Business Performance Solutions (CBPS)

Brookfield, Wis. – November 4, 2015 – The Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce (GBCC) announces that the Chamber and Waukesha County Technical College’s Center for Business Performance Solutions (CBPS) will develop a strategic partnership to provide business-based education to the Brookfield business community. The CBPS has been awarded a $127,000 Workforce Advancement Training grant from the Wisconsin Technical College System to support workforce advancement of Brookfield-based businesses and organizations.

Carol White, President and CEO of GBCC, worked with Jonathan Koeller, Director of Business Development/Manager of WCTC, to set the details of the program. White said, “Being an engaged partner with our members, we have coordinated the training venue and will promote the training curriculum to our more than 500 member businesses.”

The first class will be offered November 10th and focus on customer service. It is called “Service Sells.” Other course titles include emotional intelligence, onboarding of new employees, working with difficult people, developing high performance teams, and essential conversations. White continued, “Additional training will be presented on customer service, leadership, conflict in workplace, communication, lean/continuous improvement/problem solving and human resources. Courses will run through August of 2016.

These are topics that all Brookfield businesses can benefit from. The cost-savings, because of the grant, to businesses to attend these workshops, is significant. For example, a normal four-hour course would cost $129.00, but due to the grant, we are able to offer this to Chamber members for only $30.00, and $50.00 for non-member businesses. Longer course sessions, eight-hour and multiple day sessions will be slightly more.”

All workshops will be held at GBCC offices at 17100 W Bluemound Road, Suite 202, Brookfield, Wis. Pricing will vary based upon the course topic and length of each session. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required using the chamber’s website www.brookfieldchamber.com. Click on events page.
