Milwaukee, WI (June 30, 2015) – Michael Best & Friedrich LLP announces that Partner Eric E. Hobbs has been honored by the Pulp and Paper Safety Association (PPSA) with their Distinguished Service Award. The award is the PPSA’s highest honor for service and recognizes leadership and service within the association.

“Eric Hobbs has been a friend of the PPSA for several years,” said PPSA Chairman, Peter G. Masias. “He has offered legal advice, business advice and leadership to the Board of Directors and was key in keeping the association going throughout tough economic times. Eric has attended and participated in the PPSA Annual Professional Development Conference for several years. The Board of Directors and I are proud to present him with the 2014 PPSA Distinguished Service Award in recognition of his leadership and service to the association.”

Matthew Kanneberg, General Chairman of PPSA, said Hobbs’s integrity is the attribute he appreciates most. “Eric has gone far beyond the normal support to which I am accustomed. This is evident in the personal time he spends helping our conferences, the wealth of advice he provides to our industry members and general guidance he gives to our organization. Because of that integrity, it’s easy for the PPSA to recommend Eric and other attorneys at Michael Best to our member sites and companies as the premier OSHA and regulatory legal resource.”

Hobbs, a Partner in the Firm’s Labor and Employment Relations Practice Group, focuses his practice on employment counseling and policy development, occupational safety and health, worker’s compensation, wage-hour matters and employment discrimination litigation. He also has experience in wage-hour, employment discrimination and multi-district class action cases.
