MADISON, Wis., March 19, 2015 – Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin announced today it has received a $3,000 grant from the Stateline Community Foundation’s Community Needs Grant Program to fund Mobile Pantry Program distributions in Beloit.
“Second Harvest Foodbank is grateful for the Stateline Community Foundation’s support of the Mobile Pantry Program in Beloit,” says Dan Stein, President/CEO for Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin. “Mobile Pantries are critical to our efforts at providing a supplemental source of nutritious food for many in our community who struggle with hunger.”
Second Harvest Foodbank operates two Mobile Pantries in Beloit, in partnership with the Masonic Center. Last fiscal year (July 2013 – June 2014), these mobile pantries served 39,835 individuals more than 646,000 pounds of food.
Overall, Second Harvest Foodbank’s Mobile Pantry Program operates 29 sites each month.
