Earns Top Spot in National Competition

(Appleton, WI) Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction, Inc. has been honored with a Senior Housing News Architecture & Design Award. The award recognizes Hoffman’s design of Lutheran Life Communities’ My Rehab Center on the Lutheran Home senior living campus in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Hoffman and My Rehab Center were named best in the repositioning category.

My Rehab Center is an 81,000 sq. ft. world-class healthcare facility that boasts 78 resident units, neighborhood spaces for dining and socializing, and a state-of-the-art rehabilitation and therapy gym that includes a mock apartment for practicing independent tasks done at home. “My Rehab Center is an excellent example of how healthcare facilities are moving away from the institutional, medical model to a patient-centered model of care. Additionally, these facilities are becoming more warm and inviting environments with a presence of upscale hospitality,” said Randy Bremhorst, project principal with Hoffman.

More than 50 senior living communities were submitted for the annual design competition. Out of the entries, only seven were selected as award recipients. “We are extremely honored to be recognized by Senior Housing News,” said Bremhorst, “It means a great deal that a panel of our peers found our design of My Rehab Center to be a positive impact on the Lutheran Home community and campus.”
