Employment and Volunteer Open House February 28, 2015 10 am to 1 pm
Eagle, Wis.–Old World Wisconsin seeks employees to help bring the magic of Wisconsin history alive for the 2015 operating season. The history attraction is also looking for volunteers who would enjoy sharing life from the late 1800s and early 1900s with today’s guests.
To find the best and most enthusiastic new members for the upcoming season, Old World Wisconsin will host an Employment and Volunteer Open House at its historic Clausing Barn on Saturday, February 28, from 10 am to 1 pm.
The Old World Wisconsin team is looking for costumed educator/demonstrators, tram drivers, day camp counselors, museum store and restaurant workers, plus a corps of volunteers to help with tasks including greeting guests, gardening, sewing and office help. There are even volunteer opportunities playing historic base ball. For those interested in an immersive gardening experience the historical gardens department is looking for an intern seeking hands-on experience with heirloom plants.
While the positions vary, enthusiasm is a must-have, and is seen as one of the factors contributing to the history attraction’s continued attendance increase in 2014. Most roles are seasonal, primarily May through October, and training for most positions begins in April. Background checks are routine. Overview of Old World Wisconsin
Old World Wisconsin is located on Highway 67 just south of Eagle, Wisconsin in the Milwaukee/Chicago/Madison triangle. The 600-acre history attraction features interactive environments and immersive stories of 19th- and early 20th-century Midwestern immigrant farm and rural life.
