MADISON, WI—The recent upsurge in Madison web-centric businesses gets a boost as Jim Remsik returns to his home state. A Ruby on Rails heavyweight, Jim has presented at more than 6 conferences—including twice in Scotland and once in Madrid—and was featured in The New York Times for his unconventional and effective programming style. He joins Bendyworks LLC as a principal this month, further bolstering the company’s team of expert developers.

Formerly a web developer for the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions in Madison, Jim moved to Florida in 2007 to help start Hashrocket, now a world-class web development firm with offices in Jacksonville Beach, FL; Chicago, IL; and Santiago, Chile. His return will benefit not only Bendyworks but the greater Madison IT community, as he and his wife, Jen Remsik, are organizing the first Madison Ruby Conference, scheduled for August 18–20, 2011. “We are absolutely thrilled that Jim is joining Bendyworks. He brings a wealth of Ruby on Rails experience back to Madison where interest in the popular web application framework is starting to explode.” says Stephen Anderson, co-founder of Bendyworks.

About Bendyworks: Bendyworks is a web and iPhone/iPad software development firm located in downtown Madison focused on business applications. Founded in April of 2009 by Stephen Anderson and Bradley Grzesiak, it has bootstrapped to 6 employees and frequently plays host and sponsor to monthly Ruby on Rails user group meetings.
