(Madison, WI) The restaurant Sunset Grille at Hawks Landing Golf Club has provided Second Harvest Food Bank of Southeastern Wisconsin with an approximate donation of 200 pounds of food. Hawks Landing Golf Club President, Jeff Haen, indicates “With our restaurant Sunset Grille at Hawks Landing Golf Club closing for the winter season, we felt donating our surplus items to those in need would be a great way to make use of food that would otherwise be discarded into the trash”. The donation of the excessive food is keeping in line with Hawks Landing Golf Club’s overarching sustainable goals that, in part, are hoped to be achieved by reducing waste.
The approximately 200 pounds of donated food included ground beef, gumbo, cookies and bars, pasta, jellies, myriad vegetable, squash, bread and buns, fruits and vegetables, and many, many more pantry staples.
