A few years ago, Chris Hodge was the general manager of a local restaurant. He thought he had found his niche in the business world, but then the economy crashed and Chris found himself among the unemployed. That’s when he decided to enroll at Madison Area Technical College.

“In a world filled with uncertainty, Madison College has provided me with an education that will last forever—that is for certain,” says Hodge.

On Thursday, December 16, Hodge will be the student speaker at Madison College’s Fall Commencement. He’s graduating from the College’s Liberal Arts Transfer program and plans to pursue a business degree at UW-Madison.

“Madison College helped me build not only my knowledge, but also long-lasting personal and professional relationships that I never thought were possible,” added Hodge.

Madison College’s graduation ceremonies will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Redsten Gym, which is located at the Truax campus. More than 1,200 students are graduating this session—about 200 will participate in the College’s Commencement ceremony.
