Metrix: Introduces new suite of service portals

MILWAUKEE (December 2, 2010) – Metrix, the field service software company, today announced the availability of four new portal solutions. The easy-to-use web apps are already helping Metrix customers transform their service delivery processes, extending their IT systems beyond the company walls and leveraging the latest CRM technologies.

Each Metrix Service Portal is designed to meet the needs of a specific type of user based on their job responsibilities. The portals are accessed through a browser (Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox, Safari) and run on any desktop, laptop, notebook, tablet or mobile device including iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone 7. Metrix is the first company to develop a full suite of user-specific web portals for service businesses.

Technician Portal – Provides field service resources (employees, contractors and third-party service providers) with instant access to their daily work schedules where they can accept jobs, get directions, view customer history, access solutions or product data sheets, record parts, labor and expenses and monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s).

Customer Portal – Enables end-users and consumers to create new service requests online 24×7, verify warranty or contract coverage, order replacement parts, register products, enter meter readings, view existing requests, add comments or attachments and initiate RMA returns, exchanges or repairs.

Warehouse Portal – Designed for ruggedized, barcode-enabled mobile devices like the Symbol MC9090 or MC3100, the Metrix Warehouse Portal automates standard reverse logistics and service inventory processes like picking, shipping, receiving, stock transfers, stock counts, and stock adjustments.

Store Portal – Enables subcontractors and suppliers to increase their value-add to retail stores and consumers. Store employees can create new service tickets or repair orders online 24×7, add comments, attachments or pictures and track status of existing requests. The subcontractor/supplier is immediately notified of new work by email and can access the Metrix Technician Portal to fully automate the service process from beginning to end.

“Service organizations need to be able to fine tune every aspect of the service delivery process to differentiate themselves from competitors and pass on cost savings to their customers,” said Tom Bowe, vice president of marketing for Metrix. “These service portals allow for that kind of flexibility without having to compromise on functionality.”
