Recovery Foundation: Recovery organizations to host Voices for Recovery luncheon to raise awareness of substance use disorders in Dane County

The Recovery Foundation, Connections Counseling and Hazelden have combined resources to host the Voices for Recovery Luncheon on Wed., Oct. 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Edgewater

Hotel. The Edgewater Hotel is located at 666 Wisconsin Avenue in Madison. The cost is $75.00 per ticket, and registration is available online at http://www.recoveryfoundation.net.

The Keynote speaker is Christopher Kennedy Lawford who will honor and celebrate those living and working in the recovery community. Christopher is the first-born child of President John F. Kennedy’s sister

Patricia, and famous Rat Pack actor, Peter Lawford. He spent his early teen years experimenting with drugs and getting into all kinds of trouble, culminating in an addiction to heroin. Sober now for 22 years,

Lawford will share his personal struggles with addiction and triumphs in recovery.

The Recovery Foundation, Inc. is a local non-profit organization that supports recovery from substance use disorders through financial assistance, public outreach and education, and advocacy for research and evidence-based treatment and recovery services. The Recovery Foundation is run by a volunteer board that is responsible for directing services and shepherding resources.
