Sept. 22, 2010, MADISON, Wis. – A state chapter of the Solar Energy Industries Association, a national trade association for the solar energy industry, has been established for Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Solar Energy Industries Association (WiSEIA) was created to provide information, advocacy, education and networking opportunities to Wisconsin solar energy businesses and to promote the long-term success of the solar industry. Information about the association and a membership application appear at http://www.wiseia.org.

Founded in 1974, SEIA has nearly 900 member companies that are involved in photovoltaic (PV), solar water heating, concentrating solar power (CSP) and solar hybrid lighting industries. SEIA works to make solar a mainstream and significant energy source by expanding markets, removing market barriers, strengthening the industry and educating the public on the benefits of solar energy.

Founding members of WiSEIA include Caleffi North America, Inc., Milwaukee; Godfrey & Kahn, Milwaukee; Helios USA, LLC, Burlington; Johnson Controls, Milwaukee; Orion Energy Systems, Manitowoc; Pieper Electric, Milwaukee; and Renewable Energy Solutions, Waukesha. Charter members include Lemburg Electric Co., Brookfield, and SunPower Corporation, San Jose, Cal.

Executive management for the new state association is provided by Association Management Partners, LLC. WiSEIA’s headquarters are located at 22 N. Carroll St., Suite 300, Madison, Wis., 53703. The phone number is (608) 251-5940. ###
