The Marcus Corporation: Announces new management positions

Milwaukee, Wis., September 14, 2010. . . . .The Marcus Corporation (NYSE: MCS), today announced new management positions in its Marcus Theatres® and Marcus® Hotels and Resorts divisions and in its corporate legal department.

Peter Engel has been named chief technology officer for Marcus Hotels and Resorts. In his new role, he will direct the division’s technology strategy, implementation and operations. Engel joined The Marcus Corporation in 2004 as director of technology. A 30-year veteran of the information technology industry, he comes from a consulting and technology operations background.

Prior to joining The Marcus Corporation, he served as president of Aperias Management Services, a consulting firm specializing in information technology and strategic management consulting services. Engel has 15 years of experience in the travel and leisure industry, including serving as chief operating officer for Trisept Solutions, and senior vice president at The Mark Travel Corporation. He is a member of the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals and Hotel Technology Next Generation.

Kim Lueck has been named chief information technology officer for Marcus Theatres. In her new role, she will assume responsibility for the division’s technology strategy and implementation. Lueck joined Marcus Theatres in 1997 as IT manager, and later served as IT director for the Baymont and KFC divisions. In 1999, she received the Marcus Theatres “Spotlight on Excellence” award for her leadership role in implementing the division’s first phone ticketing sales system, print-at-home ticketing and data warehouse capabilities.

Lueck played a key role in the overnight technology conversions for the company’s acquisitions of Cinema Entertainment Corporation in 2007 and the Douglas Theatre Company in 2008. Lueck has

chaired the Advisory Board of Radiant Systems, an entertainment industry technology provider, for the past six years. She participates on several National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO) committees and volunteers with organizations including Variety, COA Youth & Family Centers, the Multiple Scoliosis Society, The Gathering, United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF) and the United Way. She also serves on the United Way Emerging Leaders Council.

Michael Kohler has been named senior counsel for The Marcus Corporation. In his new role, Kohler will represent the company’s theatre and hotel divisions before federal and state administrative agencies throughout the country in all areas of employment law. Kohler will also be responsible for counseling and training the company’s managers and human resource directors on labor and employment law related issues, assist in union negotiations and represent the company in labor arbitrations.

Prior to joining The Marcus Corporation in 2005, Kohler was an associate at Foley & Lardner, LLP in Milwaukee. Kohler received a dual bachelor’s degree in business administration and history from Marquette University in 1996 and obtained his law degree from the University of Illinois in 2000. In addition to his work at The Marcus Corporation, he teaches as an adjunct professor at Marquette University’s College of Business and frequently provides lectures on employment and labor law topics to classes and professional groups. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation as well as the Association of Corporate Counsel – Wisconsin Chapter.
