UW-Stevens Point: Wetter named head of Health Promotion and Human Development at UWSP

An associate professor of dietetics and health promotion is the new head of the School of Health Promotion and Human Development at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Annie Wetter will replace Marty Loy, who has been named the dean of the College of Professional Studies at UWSP. The School of Health Promotion and Human Development is housed within the College of Professional Studies, and holds the undergraduate majors in dietetics, family and consumer science and health promotion; master’s degrees in nutritional science and human and community resources; and a family and consumer science graduate certification.

In addition to teaching, Wetter coordinates the master’s degree in nutritional sciences and is a faculty representative for UWSP athletics. An active scholar, she is a member of the American Society of Nutritional Scientists, National Wellness Institute and the Society of Nutrition Education. She holds a bachelor’s degree from University of California-Davis and a doctorate from UW-Madison and has done post-doctoral work at Tufts University.

Wetter is also president of the Portage County CAN Coalition, a group that seeks to empower residents to live active lives and eat healthfully.
