“The best racing of the year!”

“We were on our feet the entire race!”

“When are you gonna do that again?”

These were some of the many comments overheard as the huge crowd streamed from the ASA Sanctioned Dells Raceway Park on the night of the Assembly Products Shootout. “I felt the electricity throughout the entire facility” said Ed Schell, CEO of Assembly Products. “I knew immediately that we needed to do this again…and soon!!”

Round 1 was won by crowd favorite “Insane Shayne” Poenhelt, after making the dash on the final qualifying day. “Talk about squeaking in at the wire” Poenhelt said as he admired his $1,000 check and 5ft high trophy. “Let’s do that again!”

And so it will be. Round 2 begins this Saturday July 24th at Wisconsin’s Showcase Short Track, with the Round 2 Shootout being held on Saturday September 4th, which is also Season Championship night.

Qualifying Guidelines:

* Driver must qualify and participate in the Trophy Dash (top 6 qualifiers, 10 Laps) on at least 1 of 4 consecutive qualifying weeks.

* Driver must be present and race the feature in 3 of 4 consecutive qualifying weeks.

* Drivers will accumulate points based on finish position. The top (9) in Dash points plus (1) provisional will race the shootout.

* Shootout will be 20 laps, and Double File restarts will be used.

The best Drivers sprinting for another cool $1,000 sounds good to Dells Announcer Todd Behling. “Without question, the most action I’ve ever seen in 20 laps…ever! The crowd was on their feet from the drop of the green and they never sat back down. I was hoarse for 2 days!” Behling said.

Rest up Todd. We’re doing it again.
