EAU CLAIRE – Western Wisconsin Energy, a founder member of the Wisconsin Bio Industry Alliance (WBIA) kicked off the Chippewa Valley Air Show in Eau Claire on Thursday by highlighting two ethanol-powered vehicles: a stunt plane flown by nationally-recognized stunt pilot Greg Poe and a chopper built by the famous Orange County Choppers shop in New York.

State Senators Pat Kreitlow and Russ Decker, supporters of the ethanol industry who were influential in passing the most recent biofuel legislation (SB 279) in the state legislature, also attended the event.

“This event was a great opportunity to highlight the fact that ethanol can be used as a fuel for all kinds of vehicles – from cars and trucks to motorcycles to planes,” said Joshua Morby, Executive Director of the WBIA. “Members of our organization support national efforts to expand the applications of ethanol, which will ultimately increase our energy independence while growing our economy and improving our environment.”

The full Air Show will be held at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport over the June 5-6 weekend.
