NEW NORTH – The New North is home to people from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, and their histories and heritages are still alive and well today. The region works to encourage and celebrate a diverse population of citizens, families and ideas. Here are a few facts about diversity in the New North:

* More than one-quarter of businesses in the New North are minority- or women-owned and the number is expected to continue to increase.

* Wisconsin now ranks third in the nation for Hmong population.

* In Wisconsin, the Hispanic population has grown more than 107% in recent years. High growth rates have also led to an increase in Hispanic-owned businesses.
