The Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative (RWHC), a cooperative network of rural Wisconsin hospitals,

has relocated their wide area network equipment and servers to Madison-based 5Nines Data Services

LLC, 222 West Washington Avenue, in Madison.

The move dramatically increases RWHC’s ability to meet the growing Internet connectivity demands of

its members. Incorporated in 1979, RWHC is owned and operated by 29 rural, acute care hospitals. Their

mission is to strengthen and enhance the quality of rural health care through networking, shared services,

and advocacy. RWHC has received national recognition as one of the countries earliest and most

successful models for networking among rural hospitals. Visit www.rwhc.com for additional information.

Founded in 2003, 5Nines Data Services (www.5ninesdata.com) offers a world-class infrastructure for co-

location, hosting, and management of critical data, applications, and networks. “5Nines provides

management support 24x7x365 to respond to disasters, ensure uptime, and provide business continuity for

our customers,” explained Todd Streicher, President of 5Nines. “We are pleased to be the co-location

facility and look forward to offering more services to Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative”, Streicher

continued.

5Nines Data Services collaborates with Norlight Telecommunications to provide the fastest and largest

pipeline to the Internet in the area. Norlight’s local point of presence (POP) shares the same building with

5Nines Data, allowing for cost-effective ease of shared services. Norlight Telecommunications, Inc

(www.norlight.com) is a full-service telecommunications provider of high quality, integrated data

solutions. Norlight’s Guardians of Data is headquartered in Brookfield, Wisconsin and have been

serving business customers for 32 years.

“RWHC now has a DS3 internet bandwidth connection with direct access to Norlight’s POP which allows

our members to share information more quickly,” explained Larry Clifford, RWHC Director of Product

and Member Development. “By co-locating our network equipment and servers at 5Nines, we have been

able to reduce our members’ costs, which is always a great consideration in healthcare.”
