(December 1, 2009) – “Employee Benefits Update: Two Challenges, Two Solutions for 2010” is the title of a free online Webinar to be presented by Clifton Gunderson – ranked as one of the nation’s largest certified public accounting and consulting firms – on December 10, 2009. Throughout the session you will learn about common operational defects related to employee benefit plans, how to solve those defects, and what impact the economy has had on employee benefit plans.

About our presenters:

Terry Morris, CPA, Senior Manager has more than 19 years of audit experience, specializing in employee benefit plan audits. She has extensive experience with a wide range of benefit plans, including 401(k)s, pensions, ESOPs, health and welfare plans, and plans with 11-K filings. Morris currently manages more than 50 benefit plan audits which include managing teams and overall coordination of services. She also assists clients with accounting issues, internal controls, and implementation of accounting standards, financial reporting and compliance issues. As a firmwide technical resource and consultant, Morris has contributed to the development and implementation of Clifton Gunderson’s employee benefit plan training programs and audit tools. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Thomas Rey, CPA, Partner has more than 14 years of experience and specializes in serving investment companies and state and local government agencies with an emphasis on defined benefit and deferred compensation plans. Specifically, he focuses on auditing large governmental retirement plans and has significant experience auditing alternative investments such as real estate, hedge funds, private equity funds and other hard to value investments. On the commercial side, Rey serves a variety of clients with very large investment portfolios containing significant alternative investments such as real estate, venture capital trusts, limited partnerships, REITs, timber, foreign investments, and other passive investments. He also performs research and consulting projects on the structure and operations of investment entities, passive foreign investment companies, and offshore commodity pools. Rey is a member of the AICPA, Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants, and Government Finance Officers Association.
