Madison’s newest climate-controlled self-storage facility chosen for its range of security and storage features

Madison, Wis. — On May 18, 2004 at 4:00 p.m., AAA Secure Storage (AAA) will host more than 100 attendees participating in a national self-storage seminar held by Trachte Building Systems, Inc., a leading manufacturer of self-storage facilities. The visit will include a tour of AAA’s facilities, an overview of site security features, information about effective ways to target both commercial and residential customers, and an introduction to its new record storage and retrieval service. Members of the press are invited to attend to learn more about the dynamic self-storage industry.

“The self-storage industry has doubled in size roughly every 10 years for the last few decades, and has attracted a lot of interest as an investment. We hold educational seminars about the industry, and, as a wrap-up, we visit a facility that effectively applies the best practices of the business,” said Jamie Lindau, sales manager at Trachte. “AAA Secure Storage is our site of choice because they offer some of the best features in the area including excellent security, an on-site, live-in manager and climate-controlled storage. Mini storage is a competitive market in Madison, but AAA has continued to grow by finding market niches and serving them effectively.”

Security is one of AAA’s top priorities. The entire site is gated and access is controlled via an electronic system. Renters receive a security code to enter the storage area, a camera in the keypad captures the image of the visitor and surveillance cameras photograph the car’s license plates. Once inside the gates, motion-detector cameras record the movements and actions of anyone on site.

Says AAA owner, Mark Paszko, “We know exactly who has been on site and when, and can easily provide this information to the police in the event of a problem. Our customers are entrusting us with their valuables, and our systems help to ensure their security.”

AAA offers both cold and climate-controlled storage. Cold storage is popular locally with college students and people who are storing items that are not temperature sensitive, including RVs, boats and cars. Climate controlled storage – which offers both humidity control and a temperature maintained between 55 and 80 F˚ – is ideal for more sensitive items, from antiques to records to electronic and pharmaceutical supplies.

“We’re a great resource for businesses and salespeople. Some store their promotional materials here or their parts inventories,” said Bonnie Holthus, AAA manager. “I can accept deliveries for them, they can have electricity right in their unit in case they need to do repairs or store items in a fridge or freezer, and they have the security of knowing their items are protected against theft and damage.”

AAA recently added DocuKeeper records storage to its list of services. Ideal for businesses that need to maintain records to stay in compliance with standard business practices, IRS requirements or HIPAA regulations, DocuKeeper offers a convenient, cost-effective way to ensure record safety and access for all types of records including paper, microfiche and electronic, at a cost that’s less than half of on-site storage. All paper records and hard electronic media are bar-coded and inventoried to guarantee ease of retrieval, and are stored in units that offer protection against temperature, humidity and fire. DocuKeeper plans to add electronic back-up services in the near future, and offers record access on a 24/7 basis, 365 days a year.
