MADISON – Gov. Jim Doyle today announced that 10 Wisconsin dairy producers have received $30,000 in funding from the Department of Commerce’s Dairy 2020 Program.
“My Grow Wisconsin plan calls for revitalizing the dairy industry,” Gov. Doyle said. “Dairy 2020 grants provide professional planning assistance as dairy producers consider initiatives to improve on-farm profitability. I am pleased that we can help these dairy producers hire professional services and obtain sound business advice.”
The projects are as follows:
Walter F. Taylor, Lancaster, Grant County, $3,000 Dairy 2020 grant
Walter Taylor will use the funds to hire the professional services necessary to evaluate the feasibility of expanding his current farm.
Voegeli Farms, Inc., Monticello, Green County, $3,000 Dairy 2020 grant
Vogeli Farms, Inc. will use the funds to hire the professional services necessary to evaluate the feasibility of modernizing and expanding the existing dairy facility.
Robert H. Cramer, Juda, Green County, $3,000 Dairy 2020 grant
Robert Cramer will use the funds to hire the professional services necessary to evaluate the feasibility of expanding his current dairy facility.
McGuire Farms and Dairy, Inc., Avoca, Iowa County, $3,000 Dairy 2020 grant
McGuire Farms and Dairy, Inc. will use the funds to hire the professional services necessary to evaluate the feasibility of expanding the dairy farm.
Rodney and Tracey Kaiser, Marathon, Marathon County, $3,000 Dairy 2020 grant
Rodney and Tracey Kaiser will use the funds to hire the professional services necessary to evaluate the feasibility of expanding and modernizing their dairy farm.
Gary Edelburg, Scandinavia, Portage County, $3,000 Dairy 2020 grant
Gary Edelburg will use the funds to hire the professional services necessary to evaluate the feasibility of purchasing a small farm.
Eugene E. Hetebrueg, Allenton, Washington County, $3,000 Dairy 2020 grant
Eugene Hetebrueg will use the funds to hire the professional services necessary to evaluate the feasibility of expanding his dairy farm.
Vernon Emerick, Cadott, Chippewa County, $3,000 Dairy 2020 grant
Vernon Emerick will use the funds to hire the professional services necessary to evaluate the feasibility of rebuilding his dairy farm after a fire.
Kevin Grezenski, Stevens Point, Portage County, $3,000 Dairy 2020 grant
Kevin Grezenski will used the funds to hire the professional services necessary to evaluate the feasibility of modernizing his dairy farm.
Larry G. Lindner, Shawano, Shawano County, $3,000 Dairy 2020 grant
Larry Lindner will use the funds to hire the services necessary to evaluate the feasibility of expanding his dairy farm.
The Dairy 2020 Program, administered by the Department of Commerce, helps improve the dairy business climate through business, government, and education partnerships. It also provides individual Early Planning Grants of up to $3,000 to dairy producers for professional services necessary to evaluate the feasibility of the start-up, modernization, or expansion of a Wisconsin dairy farm.
