New North City Recognized by Relocate America
APPLETON, May 16, 2008 – The New North Community of Appleton was named among Relocate
America’s 2008 list of the 100 Top Places to Live in the United States.
“It’s no surprise that the New North is home to some of the best communities in the country for people to
raise a family,” said Jerry Murphy, Executive Director of the New North, Inc. “The New North boasts
great schools, a growing economy and some of the safest cities in the country.”
Appleton was one of only two Wisconsin cities to earn the distinction of being among the top 100 places
in the United States to live. Relocate America accepts nominations throughout the year from cities and
towns that are considered great places to live. The nominations are examined by an editorial board
which closely examines the nominees based on education, employment, economy, crime, parks,
recreation and housing in that community.
Relocate America specifically noted Appleton’s growing economy in listing it as a top place to live in the
United States. Appleton has everything that individuals can want in a community, from great public
schools to recreational sports and entertainment.
“We are proud that Appleton has earned this important honor. As New North communities, like Appleton,
continue to receive the recognition they deserve for safety, education, and quality of life, more and more
people will discover why the New North is one of the greatest places in the country to live, do business,
and raise a family,” Murphy said.
